I am always searching for the perfect skincare routine. It’s like searching for the perfect diet. Give me all the secrets, mkay? I’ve never had good skin. Ever! I so envy the girls who are glowing and fresh faced without any makeup. I had acne when I was a teenager and still cringe when anyone touches my face. And now I’m obsessed with all the new fine lines forming. Not fun. So, this is what I’m using on a daily basis to help the (aging) fight. For me, less is more.
I start by cleansing with Purity by Philosophy. I just started using it this past winter and really love it. It’s light and creamy. And a big bonus, it takes all my eye makeup off too without stinging. There’s nothing worse than having to scrub at the mascara running down your face after you cleanse. It makes me nuts. I also starting using this Elume cloth. I absolutely love them. Do yourself a favor and get this STAT! It is super soft. And it dries quickly so you don’t get that weird smell like you do with thick washcloths that have been wet too long. The worst!
After, cleansing I use REN Eye Cream under my eyes. I need so much help in this area. This is really where I’m seeing my age. Help! After that, I apply this Radiant-C Cream. I just started using this recently so I’ll keep you posted on the results. Pray I look 5 years younger by the end of summer. Pretty, please! I am so picky about my moisturizer. I just don’t like the feel of putting it on my face but understand it’s a pretty important piece of the skincare puzzle. I use SkinMedica Ultra Sheer Moisturizer. It nice and light while hydrating my dry skin. My last step is sunscreen, of course. I’ve been using EltaMD for years. Right now, I’m using the EltaMD SPF 41. It tinted but not too tinted and oil-free. Perfect for everyday!
My nighttime routine is pretty similar but with a few different products. I cleanse with Purity again but this time use my Clarisonic with the Clarisonic Cashmere Cleansing Brush. It’s so soft. Then eye cream. I like one that’s a little thicker for overnight. Right now, I’m using COSMEDIX Eye Doctor Eye Treatment. Next, I apply a Retinol. I was using Retina-A but it’s just too drying for me. I switched to Resurface by Shani Darden and love it! I especially like the consistency and that feel when you know it’s working – a teeny sting. Lastly, I apply my SkinMedica Rejuvenative Moisturizer. I am pretty much at the last drop so I’m going to switch it up to TULA’s Multi-Spectrum Overnight Skin Rescue Treatment. All of my favorite bloggers love it. Hoping I will too!
Sometimes I think a magic wand might be what I really need but in the meantime, I’m trying. There are a few things on my skincare wish list, iS Moisturizing Complex, Revision DEJ Face Cream, and Tula Revitalizing Eye Cream.
